HyperDrive Mini 30GB MP3 player with card reader

Sanho HyperDrive Mini 30GB MP3 player with card reader – from Mobilewhack;
Apparently, Sanho (aka hyperdrive.com) is known for their storage devices. It appears that they want to merge their device’s current capabilities (storage only) with the current MP3 technology. As with all convergent devices, something will give, but if you want to store a LOT of data, and by the way not have to carry an MP3 player, this might be the device. In other words, a storage device that can be used to play audio. Many photographers have been buying iPods and the card reader attachments for this purpose.
The fact that it can serve multiple purposes is pretty cool. The use of AA batteries has compromises (the physical thickness of the device), but it’s better than lugging a power cord and looking for an appropriate outlet in remote parts of the world.
An interesting point is that they sell the device with various size disks or just the case alone (which can use any 2.5″ notebook/mobile IDE Hard Disk). This suggests that it is feasible to perform an at home upgrade. It already has a USB 2.0 interface for connecting directly to your computer when required.
