privacy issues with 2007 Big Brother website

By Martin English | April 23, 2007

Apparently there are huge issues with the 2007 Australia Big Brother website.

Last Friday, Behind Big Brother revealed the official site was not using encryption technology on its credit card sign-up page, exposing users to having their details intercepted.

It’s monday, the day after the official launch, three days after problems were first noted, and the official site says…..

Due to technical difficulties new users will not be able to register on the Big Brother website at this time. Please feel free to browse our news articles, diary and regular video features, while we address this issue.

We’ll keep you updated on our progress.

Now this might seem like karma, (in a “if you’re that interested in this show, then you deserve to be hacked” kind of way), but exposing credit card numbers, not providing the services people are paying for is exposing channel 10 (and possibly others) open to legal charges.
