Syncronise Firefox Profiles with Google tool

By Martin English | January 9, 2008

I use Firefox on my desktop computer at home and on my work notebook. They have been running independently for some time until I realized that it would make more sense to sync the Firefox profiles to use the same passwords and cookies on both computers (I’m already using Google’s Bookmarks service to get around bookmark synchronisation)

But now there’s a Google Browser Sync extension – which I discovered via Ghacks.net. It requires a Google account (which I already have) and makes it very easy to sync the data between computers. All you need to do is to install the Google Browser Sync add-on on all computers that you use Firefox and let it sync Bookmarks, Cookies, Passwords, History and Windows automatically.

It is an automated process that is started whenever Firefox is started (no need to configure scheduled synchronizations using external applications),
It does not matter if you use different operating systems, because the extension works on all of them,
Data is encrypted.

It makes it easier and easier to imagine everything on the web :)
