Were your Ancestors ever tried at The Old Bailey ?
By Martin English | May 7, 2008
If you’re into true crime or genealogy (especially Australians…) you may be interested in a project which aims to put online the court transcripts of the Old Bailey right back to the year 1674.
The Old Bailey is the more common name for the Central Criminal Court in London. Now you can search for trial papers using keywords.
Note that the project is still incomplete with more historical records being added all the time, plus the Court is still in active use, with new trials are starting every day, so it will always be a “work in progress”.
